TORONTO, Ontario, May 3, 2016 – Global entertainment design company, FORREC Ltd., known for its design of theme parks, water parks, resorts, mixed-use destinations and visitor attractions has added the award-winning team of Toronto-based Scott Torrance Landscape Architect Inc. to its landscape architecture portfolio, making it one of the largest landscape architecture practices in Ontario.

Scott Torrance Landscape Architect Inc. brings expertise in landscape architecture, urban ecology, sustainability, BIM (Building Information Modeling), green roofs and LEED® on projects such as the West Toronto Railpath, Aitken Place Park, Victoria Park Subway Station, Bergeron Centre for Engineering Excellence at York University, Maddie’s Healing Garden, Scarborough Library and numerous residential projects by some of Toronto’s leading developers.

This skillset, added to FORREC’s portfolio of work for some of the world’s most successful brands, such as Universal Studios, LEGOLAND, Six Flags, Wanda Group and BBC Worldwide, creates a sophisticated level of understanding about how to plan, design and think about spaces that are truly unique.

“Landscape architecture is the backbone of many of our projects and was our roots 30 years ago,” said Gordon Dorrett, president and CEO of FORREC. “Most people don’t know that some of Toronto’s best known urban spaces, like Trinity Square at the Eaton Centre, the Ryerson Campus and Ashbridges Bay, were designed by FORREC’s original landscape architectural practice. We believe our combined efforts will help lead the next wave of landscape architecture design and build on our roots of offering Toronto great public spaces to enjoy.”

“This exciting alliance with FORREC will create a new landscape studio with an outstanding depth of creative talent, experience and in-house

resources,” said Scott Torrance, principal of Scott Torrance Landscape Architect Inc.  “We will be able to better serve our existing clients and continue to build our Toronto-based practice while contributing to FORREC’s international work with my commitment to design excellence, sustainability and connecting people to nature in the urban environment.  This merger is truly a one plus one equals three.”
