Sustainability is part of FORREC’s corporate social responsibility mandate, and it has become a huge part of our organization; it’s embedded in our culture, values, and DNA. It’s our responsibility as a group of industry leaders and innovators to be a part of the solution. We categorize our sustainability efforts into three ways: Community, At the Office, and Client Projects:
SKETCH is a community arts enterprise engaging diverse young people in Canada, who live homeless or on the margins, experience the transformative power of the arts, including building leadership and self-sufficiency, and cultivating social and environmental change. Since 1996, over 10,000 youth have engaged in the arts and skill building at SKETCH. Since 2017, FORREC has supported SKETCH through championing the creative community and helping in the organization’s various initiatives, including Nourish where our employees prepare meals, or participate in the Art Salon.
Heart disease and stroke take one Canadian life every seven minutes, and that’s unacceptable. The FORREC team has been participating in the Heart & Stroke Ride for Heart for over 10 years. Since 2014 FORREC has raised over $96,000 to support this worthy cause in finding the next big breakthrough, fueling the scientific discovery and collaborations needed to save lives.
FORREC supports the local toy drive every Christmas season through our annual Secret Santa program. Each year we give each other gifts for our inner child and donate them. FORREC donated 15 heaving bags of you to the program this year.
On a mission to provide a magical Christmas to low-income families with young children, Holiday Helpers aims to deliver Christmas to 600 GTA families! FORREC sponsored a family of five, donating much-needed winter clothing, toys, books and household items to the family.
We consistently run food drives for Second Harvest and Daily Bread Food Bank, making a special effort to donate vegetarian proteins such as beans, chickpeas, legumes and nut butters.
We also asked staff to donate to the Toronto Humane Society who asked for gently used towels and bedding to keep the animals comfortable through winter. A further four bags were dispatched to the River Street shelter.
The very essence of who we are as a company is collaboration. On every project we collaborate within our studios, our clients, with our strategic partners, our consultants, and the brands and operators we work with. Interested in working with us?
