Personal information (the “Information”) is information about an identifiable individual. This includes an individual’s name, home address and phone number, age, sex, marital or family status, an identifying number, financial and donation information, and the like. It does not include business contact information, including a person’s name, title or work contact details.
An individual’s information is not subject to protection as personal information when it is publicly available, such as in professional or other directories, in public registries, publicly filed court records or otherwise appearing in published form.
We use the Information only to improve the overall Site experience and only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in light of the original intent and use to which the individual consented. We use only Information that you choose to give us for specific and identified purposes. You will be informed of the specific purpose for which the Information is collected at the time it is being collected.
We will not sell, share, or rent the Information to others in ways materially different from what is disclosed in this Policy or as required by applicable legislation.
We retain the Information only for so long as is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and to meet our legal obligations. Any Information no longer required will be destroyed or rendered anonymous.
Individuals may, with proof of entitlement, request access to their Information in order to review its accuracy, or to request that we correct the Information in our possession. We will process any updates, changes or deletion requests as soon as possible.
We comply with applicable legislative requirements regarding safeguarding Information in our possession or under our control, including safeguards to ensure that such Information is not disclosed or shared more widely than is necessary to achieve the purpose(s) for which it was collected. We educate our personnel on the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of the Information.
Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics. None of this information is linked back to you as an individual. We use this information to analyze web site traffic trends and to make future improvements to experience of the Site for all users. This information may be stored on servers outside Canada, and may be shared with a third party entity, such as our web design partner.
This Policy is subject to change without notice. We will use reasonable efforts to post changes to this Policy on our Site. We will use the Information in accordance with the version of the Policy in force when the Information was collected.
