True to maritime tradition, the naming ceremony for the Star Princess took place on on November 6, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, with Camila and Matthew McConaughey serving as godparents to the ship! FORREC is very proud to have completed the design of this innovative new ship’s activity deck, reimagining the Star Princess’s top decks as an immersive journey that unites ocean rhythms with celestial wonder in a multi-generational guest experience.
The design process began with an in-depth review of Princess Cruises’ Sphere Class brand and guest journey. Working closely with the entertainment and executive teams, FORREC developed thematic zones that transform from day to night, featuring jogging tracks, multi-functional sports courts, shuffleboard, lounge areas, and an iconic water feature. Integrated lighting and graphics extend the ship’s use of this open-air area into the evening.
Operating within tight shipyard and scheduling constraints, FORREC supported the project through concept and schematic design and into implementation—coordinating with an international group of fabricators including De Wave of Monfalcone and Best Constructors from Belfast, all while adapting designs to meet value-engineering and brand requirements. By activating previously underused decks, the project delivers a cohesive, high-value, guest-centric destination blending active lifestyle, relaxation, and storytelling at sea.
