CCG Chuzhou

Chuzhou, China

Instrumental in establishing new retail/entertainment formats in China, our client engaged FORREC to prepare a master plan for a mixed-use development in Chuzhou, China with commercial, residential, office, hospitality, and entertainment uses. The site has the unique distinction of being configured in the shape of a fan with the transit hub and a large parking structure at its apex. Working around this shape and with existing developments in place, FORREC set bring a bold and ambitious range of programming to the project including key attractions: a branded water park; indoor theme park; hotel; specialty retail; a wide range of food and beverage; and supporting secondary and future branded attractions.

FORREC saw the site as a gateway through which visitors will find themselves, whether guests on holiday or residents on their way home, consumed by the experience, every trip rich in anticipation. Guests are introduced to key attractions from a vantage point entryway, dramatic in its architecture, and giving guests a view of what’s to come. As they make their through, there’s no end to what can be experienced. From retail streets, food and beverage, picturesque walkways and a spectacular IP-focused indoor water park and a 250-room hotel.

Particular attention has been paid to the planning and design of the development’s public spaces, allowing it to respond to the ebb and flow of the guest experience. When thoughtfully designed, these spaces establish a sense of civic value, importance, and authenticity.
