Dollywood – Mystery Mine

Pigeon Forge, USA

In 2003, HFEC reached out to FORREC to assess their existing facilities and operations to help vision a long-term plan to take Dollywood to the next level. As a result of this visioning, FORREC has designed several rides and attractions in Dollywood over our ongoing two-decade relationship. When it came time to create an exciting new attraction for the theme park, FORREC led the design of Mystery Mine, a dark-ride coaster that takes adventurous visitors on a high-speed runaway train ride through a 1900s-era mineshaft including an 85-foot vertical drop. We paid attention to the immersive experience, adding details that ensure guests always feel like they’re in an abandoned mine. Danger signs, TNT barrels, canaries and crows. This standout project for FORREC opened to wild acclaim and was voted Theme Park Insider’s Best New Attraction in 2007.
