The master plan and management plan integrates the separate gardens into one cohesive visitor experience and creates a premier botanical garden. Restoring the health and resilience of this unique setting with an urban ravine and watershed is an essential component. Views and vistas will be improved, stairways, bridges and benches upgraded, and heritage structures repurposed into food and beverage amenities.
Wilket Creek will be allowed to flood naturally without affecting the function of the gardens. Operational improvements include a new maintenance facility, parking structure and back-of-house access. Several new components include a one-kilometre circuit path, pedestrian bridge, arboretum, water attractions, celebration plaza and child-friendly tree house. It all adds up to an international destination that offers an unparalleled visitor experience.
