The Maoming Mountain Attraction is a celebration of the thrill of technology-driven dark rides and the serenity of connecting to nature. How did FORREC do it? Our master plan was designed with this juxtaposition in mind, and we created a “paradise in the sky” with three distinct areas to start. The Highland Forest, a family destination in a natural forest setting, featuring water play, adventure, equestrian trails, and retail/dining experiences. The Cloud Gardens which are a charming collection of themed garden spaces connected by a system of delightful boardwalks. And, finally, Secret Valley, an exclusive mountainside retreat nestled high on the sunny slopes of Fushan.
Connecting these zones is the spectacular Gondola Experience – a one-of-a-kind attraction that combines the excitement of a mountain gondola ride with the immersive thrills of a dark ride. Projection media and sound effects create an entertaining spectacle, immersing the visitors into a mythological creation of Fushan with its lush flower beds and exciting slopes.
The Gondola ride culminates in The Peak where a glass bridge and observation tower give peaceful overviews of the valleys below. From there, a short walk takes visitors to the highest point of Fushan where a simple Moon Circle is positioned to frame the views of the valleys below, creating a moment of quiet peace and fulfillment.
Finding the balance between technology and nature, Maoming Mountain Attraction is articulated with angular facades, subtle detailing and sustainable materials to create an elegant and refined visitor experience.
