The B&O Railroad Museum is a unique cultural and educational asset, providing a glimpse into the importance and history of American railroading. When it came time to update the exhibit for a new audience, FORREC’s master plan aimed to strike a balance between showcasing the technology and sustainability of the future and honouring the heritage and history of the existing site.
The design included expanded retail and F&B offerings, as well as creatively adding space for pop-up exhibitions to give guests a reason to return, and a reworking of the flow of the existing exhibits to allow guests to fully immerse themselves in each section before moving along to the next.
The B&O Railroad Museum continues to operate as one of the country’s forerunning locomotive experts.
