A one-of-a-kind RDE (Retail, Dining, and Entertainment) experience adjacent to LEGOLAND® Shanghai Resort and Hotel, FORREC developed the master plan and design for this story-driven destination, connecting the resort with the local community of Jinshan while also broadening its overall appeal.
Inspired by the character and diversity of Shanghai, FORREC’s design organized the district into three distinct zones; The Gateway acts as the vibrant centerpiece, anchored by a central plaza with live performances and a dynamic water feature. The Terraces provide green spaces with boutique shops, and dining within a park-like setting. The Village is inspired by traditional Chinese river towns and features nightlife and shopping along a scenic canal that is integrated with the resort’s sustainable water management system.
Informed by demographic and attendance insights, every aspect of the experience has been carefully considered, from intuitive guest flow and welcoming arrival zones to flexible event spaces, rest areas, and moments for spontaneous play. These elements support longer stays and higher guest satisfaction, resulting in stronger commercial performance.
Aegean Bingo unites the resort into a cohesive whole, bridging arrival, enjoyment, and return in one continuous, integrated experience.
